Jason Schwarz, Head Coach/Executive Director, is an experienced USA Swimming coach producing multiple Junior National and YMCA National qualifiers, in addition to his own successful
swimming career. He most recently was co-Head Coach at Westside Aquatics
and prior to that Head Coach at CCY (Crescenta-Canada
YMCA). At Westside Aquatics and CCY he coached many college recruited
swimmers. In addition to club coaching Schwarz has collegiate experience recently as the Head Coach at Los Angeles Trade
Tech College from 2006-2008. Coach Schwarz swam at the BollesSchool and the University of Florida.
Some of Schwarz's swimming accomplishments include qualifying for the NCAA's Division I swimming championships, leading the Florida Gators to the Southeastern Conference team and relay championships, qualifying for the 1996 Olympic Trials and representing the US
internationally. He has trained and been mentored by some of the world’s
best swim coaches and swimmers: Olympic and National Team coaches Gregg Troy, Skip Foster, Chris Martin, Sean Schimmel and Eric
Hanson, among others.He graduated from University
of Florida as an
All-American with a BA in Theater Arts. He is a member of American Swim
Coaches Association, College Swim Coaches Association and US Swim School
Association and is an accredited Swim Coach with USA Swimming.
Darlene Bible, Head Age Group Coach, is the Harvard-Westlake School's boys
and girls Middle School swim coach and JV and Varsity girls swim coach for 23
years, has coached numerous All-Americans as well as world class swimmers and
the 5 time Olympic swimmer, Dara Torres. Her career record at HW is
currently 165 wins and 15 losses. Through her years at the school, the
girls team has won 19 league championships and one CIF championship. The
girls at Harvard-Westlake currently hold two of the eleven swim records in
Divisions II and III swimming.
Coach Nicki Jackson
Nicki Jackson, is an accomplished
swimmer and athlete. She grew up in New
York, playing tennis competitively, trained in many
forms of dance, and swimming with various swim clubs, including the National
Swim Team, The YWCA Middies, and Long Horn Training program in Austin Texas.
This lead her to become All County Swim Champion as well as High School MVP,
Empire State Game Champion, Jr./Sr. National qualifier and a full scholarship
to Cal State University, Northridge, Division 1 team, where she also
received her BA with honors in Theatre Arts. She has assisted coaching with
many teams, including the YWCA Middies team, as well as coaching swimming with
the Special Olympics Teams. Her focus in recent years has been on dry land
training and overall fitness and Animal (dog) Rescue.
Coach David Farina
David Farina grew up in Connecticut,
swimming on club and YMCA teams throughout his youth. In high school, David was
a member of the Wilton Wahoos, and was a part of the WYW National Team several
times, achieving YMCA All-American status in the 400 Medley Relay. On his high
school team, David achieved All-State and All-Conference accolades in the 200
IM and 100 Breastroke. David went on to swim at CarletonCollege in Northfield, Minnesota,
where he finaled at the MIAC conference meet all four years, in the 200 IM, 400
IM, and 200 Breastroke. He remains on Carleton's All-Time Top Ten list in
several events. David has also been
coaching and teaching swimming since a young age. In high school, he taught
lessons at community pools during the summers, and also helped coach the Wilton
YMCA summer team. Most recently, David was an assistant coach at UC Santa Cruz
for the co-ed university team during the '05-'06 season.
Coach Timothy Sharpe, has been swimming as long as he
has been walking (true story.) Tim was an accomplished age group swimmer
and qualified for the state meet in his home state of Michigan several times. He ultimately earned
a full swimming scholarship to WayneStateUniversity
in Detroit, Michigan. He began his coaching career over
16 years ago as a co-founder of Poseidon Swim Club in Troy, Michigan.
During his tenure at Poseidon, he had several swimmers qualify for State and
four go to Junior Nationals.
